The World Reimagined
Co-Counsel were honoured to be chosen as the legal services delivery partner to The World Reimagined, a ground-breaking, national art and education charity working to transform how the UK understands the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans and its impact on us all. We are proud to support this great cause and have helped The World Reimagined achieve its goal of opening sculpture trails in 7 cities across the UK in 2022 with the aim of securing real educational change and learning from this important topic. Having worked closely with the project since January 2021, we are delighted to see that The World Reimagined’s globe trails are now live across Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London and Swansea and to be named a globe partner for three of the London globes.

The World Reimagined project is an incredible national art and educational programme that aims to transform our understanding of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans and its impact on the world. The project uses art trails, in cities across the UK, featuring globe sculptures, each created by a different artist, depicting a particular aspect of the Transatlantic Trade in Enslaved Africans. The trails bring to life its history, reality and legacy. The globes will be on display until the end of October 2022. The project is focussed on creating a future where everyone can say “I am seen”. The trails are accompanied by an educational programme for schools and colleges across the UK, some of which will also design their own globes. The globes will be auctioned to raise money to continue to support the charity’s work and provide an ongoing educational platform and teaching materials.
Co-Counsel had the honour of attending the recent launch of the project at Westminster Abbey in August 2022, with the opportunity to view many of the artist globes and hear from some of the project’s founding team members and our team has been visiting the trails for a closer look at the moving works on display.
We look forward to continuing to support The World Reimagined in its goals and wish the project great success for the future. It’s been a privilege for our team to help bring this project to life.
